Residents in the borough now have no excuse to not get fit after our Buzz adiZone has opened at Old Deer Park in Richmond.
The fantastic Olympic-themed Adizone outdoor gym has boosted the amount of leisure facilities available for the borough’s residents in their parks and will remain as a lasting legacy to the 2012 London Games.
The gym equipment includes a cross trainer, leg press, a bench, shoulder press, pull up bars, a recumbent bike, hand bike and a ski machine, set on a soft surface. The Adizone is a product jointly created, owned and installed by the Great Outdoor Gym Company and Adidas. It comes with the rights Adidas have as Olympic sponsors to use the world famous logo which is emblazoned across the base. Richmond Council secured match funding for the Adizone from the London Marathon Trust.
Cllr Virginia Morris Richmond Council’s Strategic Cabinet Member for Environment, and Planning said: “This outdoor fitness facility is a truly remarkable opportunity for residents to lead an active and healthy lifestyle while socialising at the same time. The Adizone will engage young people in our borough and provide a place for them to be a part of the Olympic movement in Richmond.”
“The gym forms a perfect part of the Richmond upon Thames London 2012 Olympic legacy for us all to be proud of.”
