READ THE HISTORY OF OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY...
CARE IS ONE OF OUR MAIN INGREDIENTS
An outdoor gym can be accessed by the whole community, so our approach to design is that we need to make it as safe and inclusive as possible for as wide an audience as possible for this reason we have always led on standards when it comes to safety and inclusivity.
WHAT STANDARDS DO YOU NEED FOR OUTDOOR GYMS?
When we started creating outdoor gyms in the UK there were no outdoor gym safety standards because we were the first!
Rather than import a range of equipment from overseas without consideration for standards, we set about establishing what standards we should apply to an outdoor gym range to make it safe and designed a range that met these standards. We decided to design and test our range to key elements of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) and the EN1176, the industry standards for play equipment used by toddlers and EN957 the indoor training standard. Our due diligence on safety captured the attention of the British Standards Industry (BSI). The BSI asked TGO to help create a UK outdoor gym specification for all ages and abilities: BSI PAS888 was born. This incorporated all the best practise we had learnt.
At the same time the European safety standard: EN16630 came into play and leap frogged over the PAS. The difference between the PAS and the EN standard was that the European standard only catered for people over the height of 1400mm. This to us did not include the whole community.
TGO comply to EN16630 but our standards go above and beyond that standard aligned with the British PAS888 work meaning that it is safer for the whole community.
The minimum safety standard is the European standard EN16630 but if children are going to access it, we would recommend choosing our products which are based also on the EN1176.

MADE FOR THE GREAT OUTDOORS?
At TGO we have two ranges of outdoor specifications – coastal and standard.
If your environment is within 1 km of the coast or you are based in a tropical climate then we would recommend our coastal range.
Each product is different but the general principles applied to most products when upgraded to coastal are:
1. Hot dip galvanised body
2. Upgrade to Marine Grade Stainless steel within the bearing assemblies, bearing shafts and axles
3. Non structural panels are upgraded to aluminium
4. Fixings are upgraded to A4 Stainless steel
Our promise for your gym aftercare:
1. Provide you with all the necessary tools to keep your gym in great condition
2. Provide you with support and training
3. Ensure all consumable elements are available to you in under 72 hours
4. If a part should break under warranty we will supply a replacement or a fix without any quarms within 4 weeks
TGO has been ploughing care into its designs over the past 8 years, ever improving its offer and eradicating known issues. TGO is always aiming for a maintenance free product however it is important to care for your new gym to ensure it stays in good and safe working order.
To keep everything operating as they should this involves some basic daily/weekly/monthly inspections of the equipment, for example, checks for any vandalism or faults, lubrication of moving parts, touching up of any paintwork damage. We provide you with a ‘Light Maintenance Kit’ which includes a maintenance manual, correct fixing tools, lubrication oil and touch up paints.
The product will then need to be serviced quarterly and this can be done by our team or yours.
The checks are outlined in our maintenance manual.

The benefit of TGO with spares/replacements:
1. We manufacture here in the UK
2. Many of our parts are common to each piece
3. Lead time on common spares will be in most cases under 72 hours if not less.
TGO can offer an extensive maintenance pack on substantial orders so that spares that may be required are available from that pack immediately (this will include touch up paint, spare fixtures and fittings, bearings etc).
Anything from that pack that is used within the warranty period will be replaced FOC (all our stock and spare parts are all made in the UK so lead time is short and no long shipment delays!)
